Universidad del Istmo (UNIS) in Guatemala hosted the 16th edition of the Jorge Montes Lecture Series, an academic event organized by senior students from the Faculty of Architecture and Design (FARQ). The event brought together renowned international speakers, including Riken Yamamoto of Japan, recipient of the 2024 Pritzker Prize; Juan Frigerio from Foster + Partners; Dominique Coulon from France; Dušan Sekulić from Austria; and Mexican architect Gilberto L. Rodríguez, founder of GLR Arquitectos.
During his lecture, Architect Gilberto L. Rodríguez shared his professional experience and presented several of his most representative projects, encouraging students to develop their own architectural identity and to seek inspiration from their surroundings and context. Throughout the week, the event also included workshops, cultural activities, and academic exchanges that fostered dialogue and collaboration among students and professionals from universities across the region.
